Achromatic lens
Achromatic lens is formed by bonding the low dispersion corona glass positive lens and the high dispersion flint glass negative lens. Generally, the design optimizes the different values of dispersion and lens shape at blue (486.1nm), green (546.1nm) and red (656.3nm) wavelengths to achieve the minimum chromatic aberration. Thus, such lenses can be used throughout the visible region. The spherical aberration of the achromatic lens is much smaller than single lens.
